Street Scenes

These shots were taken outside Kabul's main city center. All the pictures, except the first one, were taken through the window of the security van.
Went shopping for vegetables here on 9/9. It was allowed since it was just around the corner from where we live and we didn't have to travel into Kabul.

Garbage pickup. It's the sheep again.

The horse cart is hauling greens. The combination seen here of horse, bicycle and cars contributes to the chaotic (and terrifying) traffic on the streets of Kabul.

  1. Wow, I can't imagine the culture shock you must be experiencing. The photos somewhat remind me of the rural areas I visited in Mexico. Please stay safe and thank you for sharing your experiences.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful adventure. I am envious, concerned, and happy for you all at the same time. Wish you much success in your sharing of our culture. It must be extremely interesting, the learning curve of social behavior there daily. I would imagine you are very aware of yourself and your actions more than you thought you ever would be.
Be safe!!!! Keep blogging and taking those wonderful pictures.
